Ps Scott and Rachael Hanzy
Pastor Scott Hanzy is the Senior Minister at Gateway City Church Wollongong and, along with his wife Rachael, sons Caleb, Jared, Daniel and Noah, live in Wollongong on Australia’s South Coast.
Scott has grown up in Wollongong his whole life and has an incredible passion for the city. Scott completed his ministry training at the Hillsong College in Sydney before working as a Youth Pastor and itinerate evangelist for 5 years, while also creating Youth Ablaze Australia, a national youth movement out of the Apostolic Church of Australia. Out of that initiative came Liberty, one of the largest youth conferences in Australia.
Scott has been the Senior Minister at Gateway City Church Wollongong since 2002 and in that time has seen the church explode to nearly triple its original size, with no signs of slowing down.
Scott has pioneered a number of large scale community initiatives in Wollongong including the hugely successful 'RISE UP', which saw over 5000 Christians from all walks of life gather to pray for the City of Wollongong.
